M9A Mock Exam Practice Questions (2026 Syllabus)
M9A (Life Insurance and Investment-Linked Policies II) is the ILP deep-dive: sub-funds, charges, switching and product suitability. It is a short paper — 50 questions in an hour — which leaves little margin for weak chapters.

Students who passed with PassFirst
Every review below is from a real student whose result slip we have sighted. No illustrative or placeholder reviews.

“Signed up, got my login straightaway, and just started practising. The questions are very close to the style of the actual paper, and the explanations are short and clear. Revising for RES 5 felt so much less stressful with a proper system behind it.”

“Really simple to use — I did my practice on my phone whenever I had pockets of time. Every question comes with an explanation, so I actually understood my mistakes instead of just memorizing answers. The weak-chapter tracking told me exactly what to revise before the real paper.”

“The interface is clean — no clutter, just questions, a timer and clear explanations. Simulation mode felt exactly like the real computer-based exam, so there were no surprises on the day itself. I walked in prepared instead of hoping for luck.”

- ILP product structures and death benefit designs
- Sub-fund pricing — bid, offer and how units are cancelled for charges
- Front-end vs back-end loading and the effect of deductions
- Fund switching: fees, spreads, timing rules and the disclosures required
- Suitability — when an ILP is and is not appropriate for a client
M9A questions candidates ask
What is the M9A exam format?
50 multiple-choice questions over 1 hour, computer-based, with a pass mark of 70%, administered by SCI.
How much does the M9A exam cost?
S$130.80 per attempt (non-member, incl. GST), paid to SCI when you register. No retake discount applies.
Is M9A harder than M9?
It is narrower but deeper. M9A drills into ILP mechanics — charges, sub-fund pricing, switching disclosures — and at 50 questions in 60 minutes, each question carries more weight than in the longer papers. Chapter-level drilling pays off here.
Are your M9A questions actual exam questions?
No. All questions are original, exam-style items reviewed against the current SCI study text for the 2026 syllabus, each with a full worked explanation.
Should I take M9 and M9A together?
Most candidates sit them close together while the shared material is fresh. The Combo plan (any 2 modules, S$75) covers both, and our free weekly classes rotate through the M9/M9A material.
