CMFAS Exam Prep FAQ — Free Classes, Access & Fees
Free classes, question-bank access, official exam registration and fees, and what we do with your data.
Are the free live classes really free?
Yes. Weekly in-person classes rotating through RES 5, M9/M9A and HI — no card, no trial that converts into billing. We earn when you choose to buy the question bank; the class is genuinely free either way.
Where are the classes held?
Face-to-face at a central Singapore venue, near an MRT station. The exact location is confirmed on WhatsApp each week when you reserve your seat — venues rotate depending on class size.
How long do I get access?
Single module: 2 months. Combo: 3 months. FA Starter Bundle: 4 months. Most candidates book exams 4–8 weeks out, so you have room for a retake window without repurchasing — though our goal is that you won't need one.
How do I register for the actual exam, and what does it cost?
RES 5, M9, M9A and HI are administered by the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) — register at scicollege.org.sg. Current non-member fees incl. GST: RES 5 from S$218.00, M9/M9A S$130.80 each, HI S$109.00 plus a S$10.90 registration fee.
We're an independent prep platform — exam registration and fees are paid to SCI directly.
Is the content updated for the 2026 syllabus?
Yes. Question banks are reviewed against the current SCI study texts, including the RES 5 format introduced in April 2024: 150 questions over 3 hours, with separate pass marks of 75% (Part I) and 80% (Part II) — both required.
Are you affiliated with MAS, IBF or SCI?
No. CMFAS exams are mandated by MAS under the FAA/SFA and administered by IBF and SCI. We are an independent prep provider; our materials are aligned to the official syllabus but not endorsed by any of these bodies.
What happens after I reserve a free class seat?
You get a WhatsApp confirmation with this week's venue and a calendar invite, plus a reminder the day before class. Can't make it? Reply to roll your seat to next week's class. No spam, opt out anytime.
What do you do with my WhatsApp number? (PDPA)
Only class logistics and exam-prep messages, per the consent you give at signup. Opt out with one reply, anytime. We never sell or share your data, and we comply with Singapore's PDPA.
