“Signed up, got my login straightaway, and just started practising. The questions are very close to the style of the actual paper, and the explanations are short and clear. Revising for RES 5 felt so much less stressful with a proper system behind it.”

“Really simple to use — I did my practice on my phone whenever I had pockets of time. Every question comes with an explanation, so I actually understood my mistakes instead of just memorizing answers. The weak-chapter tracking told me exactly what to revise before the real paper.”

“The interface is clean — no clutter, just questions, a timer and clear explanations. Simulation mode felt exactly like the real computer-based exam, so there were no surprises on the day itself. I walked in prepared instead of hoping for luck.”

FAQ

RES 5 questions candidates ask

What is the RES 5 exam format in 2026?

150 multiple-choice questions over 3 hours, computer-based, administered by the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI). Since April 2024 the paper is scored in two parts with separate pass marks: 75% for Part I (Rules and Regulations) and 80% for Part II (Ethics, Skills and Knowledge) — you must clear both in the same sitting.

How much does the RES 5 exam cost?

From S$218.00 (non-member, weekday, incl. GST), paid to SCI when you register at scicollege.org.sg. Since 1 April 2024 there is no retake discount — a failed sitting means paying the full fee again.

Why does RES 5 catch first-time candidates out?

The two-part scoring. You can be comfortably above 75% overall and still fail because Part II landed under 80%. Add a 3-hour, 150-question time budget and heavily-tested chapters like switching disclosure and needs analysis, and knowing that structure matters. Our Exam Mode mirrors the real timing and question count and reminds you of the two-part pass requirement on every RES 5 result.

Are your RES 5 questions from the actual exam?

No. All questions are original and exam-style, written and reviewed against the current SCI study text for the 2026 syllabus. We never use or reproduce actual exam questions.

Do I get the free live classes if I buy RES 5 practice?

Yes — every plan includes the free weekly face-to-face classes in central Singapore. RES 5 is in the regular rotation. The venue is shared on WhatsApp each week. You can also attend a class before buying anything.
